My cyber pal, Cathy, is the hostess over at Mo's this month. This week's challenge-love, ribbon, bows, lace and buttons...check, check, check, check, & check...almost forgot the lace, but I caught it!
I recently read one woman's lament that digi images were all "cute". Well, no, they aren't. Some are, in my opinion, ghastly. There are just as many kinds of images out there as there are people and many (again, my opinion...you can just assume that phrase throughout this rant!) aren't worth the paper and ink needed to print them never mind the $ to purchase them.
Frankly folks, we aren't all able to draw-I mean, sure, your Mom told you you could do anything you wanted to but, seriously, we all have strengths and weaknesses. I see nothing wrong with working on your weaknesses-in fact, I encourage and applaud it, but...
So, off track---I chose "cute" because it makes me smile. It feeds my need for a Golden Book world (I'm a 50's baby). Lately, and it seems, as I grow older, I hear and see more tragedy on a daily basis. My mother died; another friend just lost her grandmother; my friend's husband is terminally ill; another friend's child is in rehab...and on, and on, and on... Its raining and grey and I wasn't in the best frame of mind. So, I pulled out this image, turned up the tunes (if you haven't discovered Pandora radio, check it out!) colored and sang, had my own little party! This is why I do cute-it feeds my spirit, brings a smile, reminds me of the moments, the ones I'll cherish forever.
